They play a mix of several genres, electro, hiphop, techno, house, baltimore and then some, but always music you can dance to and enjoy. After a couple of years focused on the hiphop genre they have now taken an interest in genres and sources for inspiration closer to electronic music for clubs.

They've played around Oslo, both together and on their own. Venues as Blå, The Villa, Barongsai, Nomaden and Stratos are places where The Bitch Boys have teared it up behind the decks. They are currently playing fridays/saturdays at Dattera til Hagen with guests like Teki Latex and Flosstradamus.

Mr. Miyagi (SE)
USF Verftet (part of SKULK) on the 23rd of August at 21:00. Cc: 70,-
Mr. MiyagiMr Miyagi is an electro music producer/DJ duo from Uppsala, Sweden. A few months after uploading their two first tracks on MySpace the group was contacted by australian label Hussle Black, a sub-label of dance-giant Ministry of Sound, and signed for a release of a two-sided 12” vinyl containing Fancy Pants and It Dies.

Besides creating own music, Mr Miyagi's known for their solid remixes. Some demanded by the original artists (Cicada - The Things You Say, Elroy and Piper – Rack Hunters, Melomanics – Get You, Cicada – Beautiful) and some unofficial (The Klaxons – Atlantis to Interzone, Lil’ Mama – Lip Gloss). A couple of original Mr Miyagi tracks were also created, namely the powerful Pick Your Poison, which was later preceded by the even more aggresive Pick Your Poison part II.

The former of the two was released on MySpace in early 2007 and the group is now drawing attention from some of the bigger acts on the scene. One of the new fans turned out to be JFK (of MSTRKRFT and Death From Above fame) who in late 2007 graced the duo with a critically acclaimed remix of Pick Your Poison. Simultaneously, canadian producer Felix Cartal also started working on a remix of the same track, all for a planned release of a Pick Your Poison EP.

Get Shakes (UK)
NG2 on the 29th of August at 22:00. Cc: 60,-
Get ShakesWhatever image the name Get Shakes (formerly known as Shakes) brings to your mind, be it a body jerking around uncontrollably or sweaty bodies in a mob dancing and bumping into each other, there is one thing that's certain. Get Shakes makes you think of movement, and the English duo of Matt & Darren Farrow certainly stay true to their name.

The two brothers from the Isle of Wight make dance music that is a blend of punk-funk and jacking electro, citing Adam & The Ants, DFA, Ivan Smagghe of Black Strobe and Optimo as key influences. Their music has been heralded by the likes of current indie-electronica kings Erol Alkan and Ewan Pearson and has been described by NME as "the sweetest indie dance crossover since James Murphy dribbled ketamine on his oversized American Apparel t."

With remixes for Datarock, Annie and GoodBooks as well as a very well-received remix of Kasabian's "Shoot The Runner" all gaining them notoriety, Get Shakes are establishing themselves as much sought-after producers for their ability to transform already good songs into phenomenal dance floor anthems that kick your ass and then make you move it. Getting tunes in the official soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto IV and the movie "21" didn't hurt either.

Ekko pre-party w/Free Blood (US) DJ-set
NG2 on the 4th of September at 22:00. Cc: 60,-
Ekko - Free Blood DJ (US)Free Blood are an exciting prospect. Born of an idle chat amongst friends one drunken evening, they began putting their hazy plans into action last year and so comes the release of their first EP.

"We really wanted to play music for people at parties that wouldn't be so much a performing "band", but manic background music for ensuing debauchery. We liked the idea of us blasting away in the corner as people frolic in an orgy of bliss"

"I had bought an old 70's Electroharmonix drum box right before I left Sacramento for NYC and was writing songs with it and a bass guitar. Gorman filled in the bass parts and Maddy and I sang or screamed or breathed heavily, while the funky little drum box did its thing. The simplicity of it all (three people, one bass, one amp and a PA) was a very attractive aspect to us."

The results are clear - refreshing, exciting dance-pop covered in a filthy layer of scum to keep the hot, sweaty, underground sleaze factor as high as possible. The combination of soul male/female vocals, deep bass and p-funk beats produce and invigorating musical experience.

Join their DJ-set in starting the Ekko festival of 2008 a day early.

Cryptonites (CH)
NG2 on the 13th of September at 22:00. Cc: 60,-
Cryptonites (CH)Cryptonites are Lukas & Remo, a pair of bang-’em-out dudes from Switzerland, who’ve been collecting blog nods and spots in DJs playlists more and more over the past year for their hitting electro. They have definitely found the perfect formula to conduct banging tunes with wicked remixes and solid singles.

These guys pick up where the Ed Banger/Digitalism crowd leaves off, adds in more funk twists and turns, a sprinkle of Daft Punk's earlier House leaning, and some secret X component that just makes it all seamlessly work in the catchiest, danciest way imaginable. They recently released their EP "Hands of God" and now they set sail for their first gig ever in Norway.

Be there, but don't come as Superman. They'll kill you!
